THIS OLD PLANE...

Tom Pritchett is an award-winning singer/songwriter and retired Air Force Pilot based in Austin, TX. Since picking up the guitar at age 16, music has always been a source of comfort no matter his location or phase of life.

While stationed in Northwest Florida he formed a connection with the Walton County Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA). In 2026, he performed at the 30A Songwriter’s Festival and took 1st place in the CAA’s annual Songwriter Showdown with his song Pilot’s Lament. He is an instructor for “Beyond Bars,” apart of the CAA’s Prison Art Program, where musicians provide inmates creative outlets for healing. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to create and connect with fellow veterans at Camp Southern Ground’s Warrior Song program.

Tom recently relocated to Austin, where he received the coveted Gold Patch award for his performance on “The Hook,” a songwriting showcase put on by “Saving Country Music.” Tom’s music seeks to capture the surrealism of lived experiences by incorporating relatable, raw truths, often filtering them through the lens of military aviation and raising a family
